Comic Strip Storyboards with Instructions Sheet: Great for Reluctant Writers! FREEBIE!
These Comic Strip Storyboards have been instrumental in helping inspire student writers--especially reluctant writers! Keep these storyboards on-hand during your Writing Lessons and keep your Writing Centers stocked with these as well!
Your students can draw/write their stories, then color them, and present them during 'sharing time'. My students LOVE them! And, better yet, 'drawing your way into writing' is a wonderful pre-writing activity and a valuable part of the writing process. (Drawing ability doesn't matter--your students can draw stick figures--it's the story the drawings tell that matters.)
I have seen this type of pre-writing storyboarding inspire students time and again! Many students start with these comic strip storyboards and then, in time, move to filling their writing notebooks! (These storyboards are also great for lessons on brainstorming, outlining, and story structure.) Target audience: ages 8 - 13.
